So as you probably know, I dropped out of high school a few years back.
Not the smartest move.
I don't regret it though. After all, where would I be without having had to make up my progress?
I wouldn't be here in the media center working with one of my best friends, Kristine R. Bush. She's really become like family to me this last year.
Who knows if I would have even met the most important person in my life, my amazing fiancée, Patricia Emily Hester? Would I have been at the school those times and got to know her?
Who knows?
Whatever happened happened, and I don't regret it a single bit. I'm where I want to be now, and I'm glad to be here.
So the real reason for this post is to share the news of my completion of the High School system. Today I tested out of my last 1/2 credit and I am completely finished.
Yay for me.
I'll admit that six years in high school is a bit ridiculous, but hey, better late than never, right?
I think so.
So here's the thing...
Ya know how you always hear people saying stuff like
Oh! High School is the best years of your life!
Yeah right.... right?
Wrong.
So you get to about your sophomore year, and you're just ready for it all to be over...
Maybe you let your thoughts get the best of you, and you decide that it's not really worth your trouble to go anymore.
I’m not saying that this is the smartest option, and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone ever. I’m just saying that I’m not a worthless wreck because of it all.
Stay in school.
But back to the whole best years thing.
I found that amongst all of the teenage/high school drama, there is so much to learn. We learn so much in high school that prepares us for a future outside of public high school.
The people that we meet, whether they remain lifetime friends or just another shoulder to cry on until you have to move on, can help you with the toughest of times.
For real. Look around you.
High school teaches you how to interact socially so that you don’t end up lonely and depressed for the rest of your life.
In my own high school experience, I happened to come across the most amazing people in the world.
Patricia Emily Hester, my best friend in the entire world. The most amazing fiancée that anyone could ever hope to have. She is the main reason for my epic (but well overdue) return to the high school system. She gives me a reason to get out of bed in the morning. Seriously Patty, I hope you read this…
All that I am and all that I will ever be will be because of you. Because you believed in me and told me how much I could accomplish.
But don’t think that I’ve left you out since I credit Patty so highly; I still acknowledge the gratuitous amounts of help that I received from some others who I also happened to meet during high school.
Alexa Newell, you are just like my little sister. I’m so glad that you’re happy with Joey, cause now I don’t have to worry about some jackass breaking your heart or creeping on you with their bald head and excessively hairy faces. With gross creases in their foreheads and a strange obsession with sheep. Plus Joe’s not so much of a dick now.
Kristine R. Bush is like my epic older sister who just happens to only be a few years younger than my parents (These things happen often I’m sure.) She has given us all an escape. She does so much to make things easier for other people without ever asking for a single thing in return. She’s one of the most genuinely nice and considerate people that I’ve ever met.
Oh, yeah.
I almost forgot...I finished shool on Friday, which is actually when I started this blog, but it's been a long weekend.
Three cheers for Cody!
